Kittens in Arizona Left Without Their Mother Struggle to Survive Together

I believe cats feel deep emotions. These feelings help them build strong bonds with each other. They also help cats push through hard and scary times.
This is what helped two abandoned kittens survive their rough start in life.

Buddha, a ginger kitten, and Bonsai, a tortie kitten, were left outside alone for several days. There was no sign of their mother anywhere.
Even though they were on their own, they made it through by staying close and depending on each other until help finally came.

Their story reminds me of two foster kittens I once looked after, Mojo and Milo. They were always together, just like Buddha and Bonsai. Their bond was really strong.
After they were adopted, their new family said they still don’t like being apart.

Just like Mojo and Milo, Buddha and Bonsai wouldn’t let go of each other. Even after Even after being rescued, the two kittens stayed very close and didn’t want to be apart.
When they were found in Phoenix, Arizona, Buddha and Bonsai were weak from not getting enough food and had injuries. There was no sign of their mother. They had been outside for several days.

The people who found them couldn’t just walk away.
They were worried about the kittens and reached out to Melinda Blain, who co-founded Bottle Baby Fosters, for help. She stepped in to try and save the abandoned kittens.

Thanks to Melinda, the kittens were rescued right away. She shared this:
“The tortie girl was only 85 grams, while her brother was 120 grams. She was the weight of an underweight newborn at five days old.”
Given the state they were in, it was clear that Buddha and Bonsai had kept each other alive in those final hours. Their rescue came just in time.

Once they were safe and getting the care and food they needed, you could clearly see them getting better.
Just one day after resting and eating a healthy diet, Bonsai had already gained 15 grams, even though she had serious injuries in her legs.
While she was being treated, she really enjoyed belly rubs and would purr loudly to show she felt safe and happy. Melinda said:
“She is a great little fighter and has the loudest purr.”

Buddha also started getting better fast. He stayed strong, and it seemed like his care for his little sister helped keep him going.

With all the love and care they were getting, Buddha and Bonsai slowly started to feel safe and more secure. Melinda shared:
“They purred the minute I picked them up. They just seemed to know that they were so loved.”

Their bond was so strong that they would cry whenever they were apart. They always wanted to be back together. Isn’t that amazing?
They did everything side by side. Their new family also made sure they stayed close and gave them all the love and care they needed.

It warms my heart to hear such wonderful news. Whoever adopted these precious kittens is truly lucky.
I hope they are still together, enjoying each other’s company and living the best lives they deserve. Come back soon for more heartwarming cat stories!
