The couple made several changes to their daily lives to meet Willy’s needs. It took some effort, but they don’t regret welcoming him into their family. Here’s what they shared:
“Willie did change our world. We had to make a lot of adjustments but it’s well worth it so full of life despite his disabilities.”

Mandy shared that Willy struggled to find a home before they adopted him.
His black fur was one reason people overlooked him. He also has cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition that affects brain development and makes it hard to balance.
VCA Animal Hospitals explains the condition this way:
“The most typical symptoms are jerky or uncoordinated walking, swaying from side to side when trying to walk, a goose-stepping gait called hypermetria, mild head tremors, and/or intention tremors.”
But Willy lives like any other cat. He just has a little wobble when he walks.

Mandy and Phillip made changes to their daily lives to give Willy the care he needed. Along the way, they found caring for him deeply rewarding.
Their love for Willy inspired them to help another cat with special needs. So, they welcomed a second wobbly kitty into their home.
Willy Wonky Meets Charlie

Meet Charlie, another wobbly cat who had a hard time finding a home. Welcoming him into the family turned out to be a wonderful choice for everyone, including Willy.

“A friend of mine reached out to me about a shelter needing help with placement of a wobbly cat. He was the cutest thing I’d ever seen and he got along with Willie so well they are with each other all the time and Charlie loves to groom Willy.”
Willy’s sweet nature and Charlie’s progress gave Mandy the confidence to help more cats with disabilities. She felt ready to welcome them into her home.

“I think my home will be open to many more special needs animals because my husband and I can’t imagine our lives without them.”
Willy and Charlie are such a sweet pair. Mandy and Phillip gave them a loving home and the care they needed. Their kindness has changed these cats’ lives for the better.
